Boat crossing to Ilha Grande (Araçatiba / Praia Vermelha)

There is no road link to Ilha Grande, so the only way to get there is by sea. The crossings are made by Flexboat, a fast, safe and comfortable boat, with an experienced crew and certified equipment.

For those going to Araçatiba or Praia Vermelha

The crossing point is Angra dos Reis! It is the only place on the mainland with direct boats to these beaches.

The arrival point depends on where you are staying. Some guesthouses have a private deck.

Do not take the crossing to Vila do Abraão. There are no scheduled boat services between Abraão and the western side of the island—only water taxis, which are expensive and may not be available upon arrival. Hiking trails between these areas are long and strenuous.

Disembarkation Locations in Araçatiba and Praia Vermelha

The boat stops along the coast, first in Araçatiba and then in Praia Vermelha. If your guesthouse has its own private dock, you will disembark directly there. If not, you will disembark at the nearest public pier.

When booking, please provide the name of your accommodation.
